Day 9 – Beijing 2022 Australian Preview

After an exciting night where Jackie Narracott captured our first ever Winter Olympic skeleton medal, a fantastic silver medal, we can settle in for another day of Olympic action with Australians in multiple disciplines today.

The ice might be our friend from here on in as Bree Walker starts her Monobob events in heats 1 and 2. Bree has had a great lead up to the games and has had several podium finishes. Can Bree add another medal to Australia’s tally.

Women are in action in the qualifying rounds for skiing slopestyle and aerials.

Local Jindabyne girl Abi Harrigan takes on the slopestyle course and our strong aerial team of Laura Peel, Danielle Scott and Gabi Ash will twist and turn off the jumps into the night sky.

Alpine skiing has an Australian in the men’s giant slalom with Louis Muhlen-Schulte competing. Giant slalom is two runs and displays great technical skiing.

Abi Harrigan will be in action taking on the obstacles and jumps of this interesting course. She arrived in Beijing with what was thought was a minor injury but turns out there is a slight fracture of the tibia, hence she has rested and missed the previous big air event. Abi will put in a strong showing if the injury does give her grief. Photo: Australian Olympic Team
