A small charming village south of Cooma, Nimmitabel is an ideal town to stop on your travels south to Victoria or the South Coast, or north to the Snowy Mountains and Canberra.

You will find a cafe and bakery, a selection of shops ideal for souvenirs plus wander through town on the heritage trail and see the Nimmity Bell in the courtyard of the old Geldmacher House.

You will find the large and famous wooden elephant, George, next door to the bakery and the Royal Arms appeared in the 1959 movie The Sundowners.
