Elliott Way to open August 7

After significant delays due to ongoing slope works to make the road safe for re-opening, the Elliott Way will open for traffic on August 7 at 10am.

In a statement released by the NPWS, they said the make safe works are now complete and the Elliott Way will be open to the public from 10am on Monday 7 August 2023.

The road corridor past the major slip site is limited to one lane and there are traffic lights that operate on a one minute timer to manage vehicles past this location.

Please also be aware that there are other minor slip sites along the road corridor that have concrete barriers to collect any falling rocks. These sites are still passable by two lanes of traffic.

NPWS will be conducting daily road patrols through the road corridor but if you have any concerns or want to advise of any rockfall issues please do not hesitate to email:
