Standing on top of the mountain as the winter sunrise casts its first ray of light on Australia’s highest lifted point is just one of many unique experiences you can add to your Thredbo snow holiday.
THREDBO Resort has opened bookings for its hugely popular series of unique on mountain experiences and premium events for winter 2023. Plus, in response to the huge demand in 2022, have also increased the number of bookings available for this season. However, guests are still encouraged to book quickly to avoid disappointment.
Guests can now reserve their position for the sunrise sessions, Dead Horse Gap tours and discovery tours presented by Defender, Kareela supper club and Kareela snowcat dinners presented by G.H. Mumm plus the Merritts Mountain Haus feasts.
Thredbo General Manager, Stuart Diver said he is thrilled that more guests will be able to enjoy Thredbo's unique on-mountain experiences this winter.
“We love blowing our guests away with unique experiences that they cannot have elsewhere. These experiences and events play an integral role in elevating our guests’ holidays to the next level, ensuring that we are delivering a premium experience,"' said Mr Diver.
Kicking off on 10 June and running through to 2 October 2023, Thredbo’s premium events and experiences deliver a 360-degree all-encompassing winter holiday to guests alongside Australia’s longest runs and the purpose-built beginner slope of Friday Flat.
Kareela Supper Clubs presented by G.H. Mumm

Take your Saturday night to a whole new level with the Kareela Supper Club! Ride the Gondola to Merritts Mountain House where your snowcat awaits. Travel across the mountain to Kareela Hutte to watch the iconic Thredbo Flare Run and Fireworks Show from the deck! Enjoy a G.H. Mumm champagne and canape package before your ride back down to the village.
Kareela Snowcat Dinners presented by G.H. Mumm
Dates: Select Wednesdays from 12 July – 30 August
Travel in style to the iconic Kareela Hutte on-mountain restaurant via passenger snowcat for a 4-course dinner and wine experience overlooking the lights of Thredbo Village below. A true premium experience that will take your Thredbo visit to the next level.
Merritts Mountain Haus Feasts

Ride under the stars in Australia’s only alpine gondola to Merritts Mountain House to enjoy a Bavarian-inspired feast! The ride down is an unforgettable one with views of the Thredbo Village lights below.
Sunrise Sessions presented by Defender
Dates: Every Tuesday from 25 July – 29 August
Hands down, the best way to start an Australian snow day! Now cemented as Australia’s most iconic on-snow experience, Thredbo will take you above and beyond to enjoy sunrise at Australia’s highest lifted point, an on-mountain breakfast accompanied with a G.H. Mumm mimosa, then score first tracks down Supertrail – Australia’s longest run.
Discovery Tours presented by Defender
Dates: Thursdays through Sundays from 3 July – 10 September
Back for 2023, Discovery Tours presented by Defender are a chance for guests to enjoy an exclusive guided skiing or snowboarding tour of Thredbo. Dead Horse Gap Tour presented by Defender
Dates: Thursdays through Sundays from 3 Aug – 10 September
Get a taste of Australia’s beautiful backcountry with maximum downhill riding on this half day tour. Be guided through the iconic snowgums of Dead Horse Gap and hear about the history of the area. Learn basic backcountry safety and cruise down to a Land Rover Defender that will take you back to Thredbo.
