The RISE business accelerate program is a Bushfire Local Economic Recovery program funded by the Federal and New South Wales Governments.
The program starts this month and organisers want people from the Snowy Monaro region to register their application:
- with an idea to develop
- Community organisations with a project to develop
- Business owners – who would want the opportunity and the framework – to take a step back and look at their business through fresh eyes.
Applications are now open until 21 October.
What is it about?
The iAccelerate RiSE program supports new and existing regional businesses with practical workshops and a peer network. Designed with regional entrepreneurs and University of Wollongong’s iAccelerate program, RiSE consists of workshops on:
- Finding paying customers
- Developing new products and services
- Learning to get investment to ensure a solid foundation for the future
- People looking to grow their ideas amongst like-minded people.

iAccelerate RiSE can support businesses and ideas, including:
- Existing businesses looking to revitalise their strategy to launch new products or services
- Start-up businesses looking to turn an idea into a business
- Not-for-profits and social enterprises looking to make a financially sustainable impact in their community
When is this happening?
The RiSE program will run over 8 weeks in the Snowy Monaro region starting in October 2022. Applications close Friday 21 October 2022.
How does it work?
Each week, participants will spend 2-3 hours working on their business at their own pace and 3 hours working together with an expert facilitator. After the 8-week program concludes, participants will have a 3 minute pitch they can use to attract paying customers, investors, and media and they will demonstrate this pitch at an event with the Snowy Monaro community.

Register for a Test your Business Idea Workshop. Choose from one of the following:
- Tuesday 18 October. 9.30-11.00am. Virtual through Zoom.
- Wednesday 19 October. Noon-1.30pm Virtual through Zoom.
