The popular Mid-Station restaurant on the Perisher Express Quad Chair will have a new look this winter, with Perisher now running the venue after the lease for long-term operators Jeff and Lisa Matthes expired in 2025.
Over the years, Mid-Station has been more than just a place to grab a bite. It's where friends and families regroup and meet after a morning on the slopes, swap stories from their latest run and kids look forward to a well-earned hot chocolate break.
The company have spent months planning a complete refurbishment designed to create an even better experience for guests. The first phase of this fit-out has taken place, and while the biggest changes are still to come, visitors this winter will be the first to see the journey begin.
Introducing Sugar & Snow
The first stage of the refurbishment is complete, with the arrival of Sugar & Snow – a colourful new pick-and-mix lolly experience designed to add a little extra magic to a day on the mountain.
From classic favourites to sweet treats, guests can create their own custom mix and take home a bag packed with exactly what they love. Whether you're rewarding the kids after a lesson, fuelling up for another lap or simply embracing your inner child, Sugar & Snow is all about creating fun moments and lasting memories.
It's the first glimpse of the future direction for Mid-Station: a more engaging, welcoming and memorable experience for guests of all ages.
A Sneak Peek at the Future
To help bring the vision to life, Perisher have shared some concept renderings of the complete Mid-Station experience on their website.
These designs offer a glimpse of what's ahead and showcase how the venue will evolve into a refreshed mountain destination for families, groups and skiers looking to take a break between runs.
To view what the full fit out will look like, visit Mid-Station this season, where a full walk-through of the final refurbishment will be on display. The transformation will be completed over the next summer to continue Mid-Station's place at the heart of a day on the mountain.

You Can Help Shape What's Next
As part of the next stage of the refurbishment, Mid-Station will not only receive a complete venue refresh but also debut an updated menu for the 2027 season.
And Perisher would like your help.
Throughout the 2026 season, guests visiting Mid-Station will be invited to share their thoughts on the future menu. From family favourites to mountain classics, the feedback will help influence what Mid-Station serves when the next chapter is unveiled.
