  • Pete Brulisauer - Vice President, International Business Development at Alterra Mountain Company

Pete is well known to most across Australia’s snow industry.  He spent more than two decades in senior leadership roles at Perisher and Vail Resorts, including serving as Chief Executive Officer of Perisher and later Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer – Australia and Perisher, where he oversaw Vail Resorts’ Australian operations across Perisher, Falls Creek and Hotham.

Pete’s connection to Australia’s alpine industry began in Perisher Valley in his parents’ hotels and restaurants, giving him deep, practical insight into mountain hospitality from a young age.  Prior to joining Alterra, Pete served as Chief Executive Officer of Hamilton Island, guiding one of Australia’s most prominent tourism destinations through the post-Covid period and a significant phase of reinvestment and experience development.

At this year’s Snow Summit, Pete will offer his strategic perspective in a thought-provoking session ‘Is it all downhill from here?  Reflections on Australia’s Snow Industry: Realities, Challenges, and Opportunities Ahead’.

Drawing on decades of leadership experience across resorts, tourism and international mountain businesses, Pete will share reflections on the evolution of Australia’s alpine sector, along with the realities, challenges and opportunities that lie ahead for the industry.

  • Peter Filopoulos - Former Chief Customer, Brand and Marketing Officer for Football Australia

Peter brings more than 25 years of senior leadership experience across sport, venues, tourism and destination strategy.  His career spans executive roles with organisations including Football Australia, Swimming Australia, Perth Glory FC and Marvel Stadium, where he has helped organisations translate moments of national attention into long-term participation, commercial and infrastructure growth.

At this year’s Snow Summit, Peter will deliver a strategic address discussing ‘From Spotlight to Structural Change: Turning National Moments into Lasting Sector Growth’.

Following Australia’s most successful Winter Olympic Games ever, Peter will speak to how the surge of national attention following the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup helped elevate the profile of the Matildas and Socceroos, and how that momentum was translated into lasting participation, infrastructure and investment outcomes through the creation of Legacy ’23.

  • Beyond the Mountains: Snow, Communities and Regional Prosperity.

Snow resorts play a critical role in regional economies, supporting jobs, infrastructure and tourism across alpine and surrounding communities.  At the 2026 Snow Summit, this will be explored through a panel discussion to examine the role of the snow industry in supporting regional economies, tourism, jobs, infrastructure and resilience, and how industry, government and local stakeholders can work more effectively together to support stronger regional outcomes.

Bringing together perspectives from regional development, local government and on-mountain operations, the discussion will explore how alpine resorts interact with surrounding communities, where value is created and shared, and how that relationship can be strengthened.

The panel will feature Olivia West (CEO of Regional Development Australia Southern NSW & ACT), Kirsten Alexander (CEO of Mansfield Shire Council) and Michelle Lovell (President of the Falls Creek Chamber of Commerce).
