Perisher’s Towers Run Renamed Legends

Perisher Resort have renamed their Towers Run Legends.

SINCE the arrival of the new Mt Perisher 6 high-speed chairlift, the speculation has always been what the new chairlift will be named. But what will surprise many Perisher guests is that the Towers run will now be called Legends.

“In recognition and celebration of the incredible efforts of the Perisher and Doppelmayr teams to deliver the Mt Perisher 6 for the 2025 season, “Towers” will be renamed “Legends” and will serve as a special Hall of Fame trail that honours the many significant contributions of long-serving staff at Perisher over time and will provide an ongoing opportunity to recognise Perisher legends,” said Perisher Resort.

Perisher’s signature run Towers, bordered by the historical lift lines of the Mt Perisher Double and Mount Perisher Triple chairs, was a nostalgic nod to the 27 lift towers that once graced Mt Perisher.

This season, with the installation of the Mt Perisher 6, there will only be 10 lift towers to navigate around, opening up the terrain and deservedly of a new name. It is still unclear if the new chair lift will have a specific dedicated name or be called the Mt Perisher 6.

Perisher has forever had legends who have worked at the resort, and within the Perisher Valley, all of whom have contributed to what we now know as Perisher Resort. Any accolade that’s bestowed on them is totally justified for their effort and longevity in shaping the resort.

The “Legends' run will serve as a special Hall of Fame trail that will be added to over time. The exact names of the first inductees will be revealed soon but it's expected the Legends will be workers with an extended employment within the company.

Perisher was built on the work of many great people who have provided leadership, vision, innovation, passion, and commitment to Perisher, and this trail naming is recognition and appreciation of their outstanding efforts and tenure.

Perisher said as part of this commemoration and impact their team members have on the resort and community, they’re working towards the installation of a photo-worthy trailhead monument that includes information linking to stories of the “Legends” of Perisher for guests to learn more, including via a QR Code.

The Mt Perisher 6, Perisher’s new high-speed six-seater chairlift, is virtually finished now (end April) except for commissioning, and will be operational as soon as 2025 snow conditions allow.
