New snow for Thredbo as they prepare for first base party

SEPTEMBER always delivers snow, even in a poor snow year and Thredbo guests welcomed the fresh snow last week where off-piste powder skiing and snowboarding were back on the agenda.

The storm delivered with 17cm of fresh snow which turned back the winter clock, and more importantly, topping up the higher slopes where all the action has been of late.

In addition to the fresh snow, colder temperatures on Friday night allowed for 76 snowmaking guns to fire throughout the evening. With more suitable temperatures in the forecast, Thredbo expects to continue its snowmaking operations on multiple nights this week.

The fresh snow and snowmaking has improved the snow conditions and is a promising sign for the remainder of the season. Check the snow report each day for updates and current conditions, and for what trails are open. The upper mountain has been the best for advanced and intermediate, Friday Flat for the beginners.

Skiers were excited for the fresh snow.

In addition to skiing and snowboarding, Thredbo's huge 2023 winter events calendar isn't finished yet!

Next weekend, the highly anticipated final First Base Presented By Canadian Club event of the season will be taking over Alpine Bar on Saturday night. Featuring Aussie DJ legends Sneaky Sound System, the event is set to draw some big numbers to Thredbo to dance under the fireworks after enjoying some fun spring skiing conditions.

This Saturday night, September 16, be at Thredbo for the Frist Base party at the Alpine Bar.
