One of the all time great rugby league players continued his pilgrimage with his band of motorcycling friends visiting local communities and schools recently.
Brad Fittler and his Hogs for the Homeless crew consisting of ex league players Beau Scott, Luke Lewis and Ian Schubert visited Jindabyne and Cooma .
At Jindabyne Central School, Fittler and radio personality Gus Worland spoke about issues teenagers were having with depression and suicide and urged them to talk with their group of friends. Highlighting the perils of being too addicted to mobile phones and the aspects of social media that influence kids these days, Fittler said he is not on social media and does not read the papers, preferring to stay away from all the negativity it brings.
The kids were excited to see the league stars as they handed out merchandise and league balls and interacted before they departed for Cooma where they engaged with kids at a rugby league training session.
The Hogs for the Homeless is an annual fundraiser where the group ride their Harley-Davidson bikes on the journey and raise money for people in need including Father Chris Riley's, Youth Off The Streets.

Enquiring on his thoughts on bush footy and the extra travel teams encounter on away games, Fittler said there were "huge challenge, especially for young kids".
"It's about getting that right for those young kids, once you start getting into teenagers it becomes a bit easier with car pooling stuff. Definitely those young years, everyone can do that better, especially in these isolated areas."
When asked did he know fellow Roosters player Russell Fairfax played for the Snowy River Bears years ago, Fittler was quick to commented, "yes of course" he knew.
"Ian Schubert is a good mate of Russells, so we were having a good chat about Russell down here, but they didn't win the comp though, wait until i see Russell."
On their stop in Jindabyne they had lunch at the Banjo Paterson Inn and embarked on the scenic drive via Dalgety to Cooma.
