A large crowd attended the Snowy Monaro Jindabyne Australia Day Awards at Banjo Paterson Park where citizens were acknowledged for their contribution to the community over the previous 12 months.

Local identity John McLoughlin was a popular recipient of the Community Event and Citizen of the Year award for his continued Christmas lights display and for all his efforts over many years within the community. 

Snowy Monaro Regional Council Mayor Peter Beer welcomed guests and award winning author Susanne Gervay OAM was guest speaker.

Jason Gammell was awarded the Special Achievement recipient for his efforts in organising half for the Cobargo community after the January 2020 bushfires.

The event was supported by the tireless efforts of the Jindabyne Lions Club who arranged a host of activities, the BBQ breakfast and entertainment.
