Member for Monaro John Barilaro and local MLC Bronnie Taylor joined Snowy Monaro Regional Council Mayor Peter Beer today to officially mark the completion of the new amenities block on the shores of Lake Jindabyne.

The new facilities are the final piece of the puzzle in the $1.3 million upgrade of the Jindabyne boat ramp precinct, which boasts improvements to the entry road, beautification works and enhanced car and trailer parking.

Mr Barilaro said the project will enable easier and safer access to the picturesque lake for both locals and tourists to the area.

“It is fantastic to see this major upgrade finally complete, with the new amenities block now open to the public,” Mr Barilaro said.

“Lake Jindabyne is a beautiful attraction and it is important that the facilities are up to scratch so everyone can enjoy what’s on offer.”

Local MLC Bronnie Taylor said the major project will ensure the precinct remains a must-see attraction when visiting the Snowy Mountains.

“The work undertaken to this area over the past few years has made a world of difference and will ensure locals and tourists alike can enjoy this beautiful spot to the fullest,” Mrs Taylor said.

Mayor Beer said the upgrade was a massive boost for the local community.

“The Stronger Country Communities Fund has brought many new facilities to our region,” Cr Beer said.

“It is great to see so many locals and visitors make use of the new facilities on offer over the summer, and I know that this precinct will be well-used for many years to come.”

The NSW Government contributed $650,000 toward the more than $1.3 million project through the Stronger Country Communities fund and the Boating Now Program.
