SNOW enthusiasts have either made their decision or will need to early this week about which resort they ride and what season pass they want for winter 2021.
Here is an update that could sway your mind.
The Epic Australia Pass offered by Vail Resorts that covers Perisher plus Hotham and Falls Creek in Victoria will have a major price increase from February 23. Plus, you will not be able to put down a $49 deposit, that will end.
So for people looking to ski and snowboard on the Epic Australia Pass you need to make that decision now or miss out on the best pricing.
For NSW snow lovers, if you were holding out to see what Thredbo will offer, I can tell you they are not in the discounted season pass business anymore.
Talking with key Thredbo people last week, they will reveal their season pass offerings in an email this coming week, but there will not be prices included. Initially, it is a guide to what they will offer in the coming months.
But there will not be a discounted Thredbo season pass as in past seasons.
There is no indication of price yet, this is only my indication, but don't be surprised to see a season pass starting from $1200 or ..... more .....
So if you want a discounted season pass, you would be best to snap up the Epic Australia Pass now before it also increases in price.
Perisher
The Epic Australia Pass is the best value pass in the business, which allows for access to Perisher, Hotham and Falls Creek in Australia. Plus some of the best names in international resorts including Vail, Breckenridge, Whistler, Park City to name a few and deals with Hakuba Valley and Rusutsu in Japan.
A price rise will incur from February 23 and you will not be able to put down your $49 deposit.

Thredbo
This week Thredbo will offer guidelines on their winter season pass offerings but there will be no prices revealed just yet....
Reading between the lines, there could be a selection of options for season pass holders, but time will tell. As we mentioned above, don't expect any discounted season pass.
They are expected to have all their regular programs and Thredboland offerings as per prior to the 2020 season.
Winter 2021
How the winter plays out with restrictions is yet to be determined, but restrictions have eased across the board since last winter, but be mindful that all venues will still have to abide by the current guidelines of the day by the NSW health Department for their individual capacity.
But in saying that, the covid-19 vaccine is being rolled out in the coming months, Australia is in a good position with the virus, so hopefully, and this needs to be taken in context at the time, hopefully we do not have major restrictions for on-mountain capacity as we did in 2020
Judging by how the northern hemisphere is operating, you would expect Perisher to "possibly" still have masks as a compulsory accessory, but time will tell.
On the international front, we hope that we can travel next northern hemisphere as we know Australians like to ski at home and internationally.
The most important decision you need to make now if you have been sitting on the fence is decide what resort and pass you want for 2021, and the cutoff for the best value at Perisher is February 23.
